Green & Quirky Upcycling Project

The aim of our project is to save tired, old castoffs from end of life in landfill, transforming them into useable, pleasing objects once more, then selling them via social media. Any profits would go to church funds.

Presently our small group works away upcycling furniture, fabric and yarn, and some quirky objects too! All of our completed items are for sale on Facebook, Instagram, Gumtree and sometimes on Ebay.

You can see our shop on Facebook.

The sort of things we upcycle are:

  • Small pieces of furniture (bedside table, small bookcase, chest of drawers)
  • Fabric, yarn and sewing basket oddments
  • Lampshades

We already have several pieces waiting to be resurrected. We have no storage space in church and so we must limit ourselves to the number of projects we can reasonably work on and keep safely at home.

Please come along to our workshops:

  • If upcycling appeals to you
  • If you are skilled in woodwork / sewing/ electrical work/or keen to learn skills
  • If you can attend fortnightly workshops at church
  • If you have space in your shed to store the project you are working on

We meet at church fortnightly, on Wednesdays at 11am, and occasionally on a Wednesday evening.

Furniture Wanted!

G & Q is looking for a few things you might have hanging about at home:

  • Beads, the size of peas
  • last year’s Xmas cards
  • Ribbon, no wider than half inch
  • old tablemats and coasters
If you’d like our group to make good use of your old stuff, please pass it on to Dianne, Rona, Pat or Pamela.
